NEW YORK — Pfizer reported financial results for the third quarter of 2026 on Tuesday and raised its full-year 2026 guidance for both revenues and adjusted diluted earnings per share.
Third-quarter revenues totaled $16.6 billion, relatively flat year over year operationally. Excluding contributions from Comirnaty and Paxlovid, revenues grew 7% operationally. Revenue from launched and acquired products grew 32% operationally to $3.8 billion, driven by key brands including Padcev, Nurtec and Lorbrena.
Reported diluted earnings per share were $0.56, down 9% from $0.62 a year earlier, while adjusted diluted earnings per share were $0.87, unchanged from the prior-year quarter. Adjusted earnings included a $0.10 impact from a $650 million acquired in-process research and development charge related to the Innovent transaction. Reported net income fell 8% to $3.242 billion.
By product, Eliquis revenue rose 25% operationally to $2.5 billion, helped by higher U.S. net prices and global demand. Comirnaty revenue fell 29% operationally, while Paxlovid declined 63% operationally as COVID-19 infections fell, underscoring the company's effort to reduce its dependence on pandemic products.
Pfizer raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance by $1.5 billion at the midpoint to a range of $62.0 billion to $64.0 billion, from $60.5 billion to $62.5 billion previously. It also raised and narrowed full-year adjusted diluted earnings guidance to $2.95 to $3.05. The company said it remains on track to deliver nearly all of its $7.2 billion net cost savings target by the end of 2026, and it confirmed Cecile Guegan as chief financial officer, effective November 1.
