Scarlett Johansson has finally opened up about her role in 'The Batman - Part II,' admitting that the mystery part pushed her further out of her comfort zone than any recent job.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Johansson was asked which of her two upcoming roles, in 'The Exorcist: Martyrs' and 'The Batman Part II,' pushed her furthest. Her answer came quickly: the Gotham sequel.
'It gave me a lot of existential angst, for some reason,' she said of the 'Batman' follow-up. 'It was very hard to figure out. I don't know why, whether it was just the role or it was just where I am in my life, but it was just hard to crack it.'
What exactly she is wrestling with remains a mystery, because her character has not been revealed. Director Matt Reeves confirmed Johansson's casting in May, but the studio has kept the name of her Gotham character under wraps. Rumors have floated several possibilities, but none has been confirmed.
'The Batman - Part II,' starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, is scheduled to open in theaters on February 18, 2028. Warner Bros. and DC Studios announced last month that filming had been halted for the time being as Reeves attends to a personal matter.
