Charlie Woods is officially on his way to Tallahassee.

The 17-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods signed with Florida State University's men's golf program on Friday, November 6, putting pen to paper at a signing ceremony at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, during the school's national signing day celebration.

Woods had verbally committed to the Seminoles in February, announcing his decision on social media. "Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!" he wrote at the time. Friday's ceremony made the commitment official.

Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion, was on hand for his son's milestone day, wearing a garnet Florida State T-shirt. The teenager's mother, Elin Nordegren, was also there, and the former spouses posed together for a rare family photograph at the ceremony.

Charlie Woods, ranked 133rd in the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Rankings, will join Miles Russell, the current No. 1 junior player, in a decorated Florida State recruiting class for 2027. He won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025, and in September he signed a name, image and likeness deal with TaylorMade, the equipment company that has sponsored his father since 2017.

Woods chose Florida State over offers from programs around the country, taking a different path from his father, who played two years at Stanford. Florida State's men's golf program was last ranked No. 47 among Division I programs.

Tiger Woods has not played on the PGA Tour since the 2024 Open Championship, though he could return to golf in December ahead of a push for Augusta in April. On Friday, though, the attention belonged to his son, who donned a white Seminoles cap and smiled as he signed.
