Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on Full House, has opened up about the financial struggles she faced after the sitcom ended, saying she learned humility working a regular job after getting sober in 2011.

Speaking on the "We're Still Here, Babe" podcast, Sweetin, 44, said she took a job as a logistics coordinator at a Los Angeles treatment center once she was sober. "I didn't have ego about it," she said. "I didn't care that I was quote unquote working a normal job. I think other people again were like, 'What are you doing here?' And I was like, 'Paying my bills. Kids don't pay for themselves.'"

Sweetin said she learned humility in the most ordinary of places — having to put items back on the shelf at Target because there was not enough money on her debit card. "I have had and I have definitely not had," she said, "and I've learned to exist in both."

Her acting career — and her wallet — got a big boost when the Full House revival series Fuller House debuted on Netflix in 2016. Even then, she said, she had to borrow money in her first week on the show and "skidded into my first paycheck with like $190 in my bank account." The sequel series ran for five seasons and concluded in 2020.

Sweetin was still a teenager when Full House wrapped up its eight-season run in 1995. She has two teen daughters, Zoie, 18, and Beatrix, 16, and married her fourth husband, Mescal Wasilewski, in 2022.
