National Sheriff’s Association has endorsed President-elect Donald Trump’s FBI director nominee Kash Patel.

The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) has publicly endorsed Kash Patel’s nomination as FBI director, while criticizing the Biden administration’s policing policies.

NSA President Kieran Donahue expressed his organization’s strong support for Patel in a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee leaders. “The NSA is proud to offer its strongest endorsement for Mr. Patel’s nomination,” Donahue wrote. “We believe his unique blend of experience, skills, and passion for justice make him an ideal candidate to lead the FBI.”

Donahue also slammed the Biden administration’s policies, stating they have “undermined the rule of law and burdened our nation with great risk and vulnerability.” He specifically criticized the administration’s border policies, claiming they have allowed unchecked access to the homeland and enabled domestic and international criminals to exploit vulnerabilities.

“Under the Biden administration, our nation’s law enforcement officers have been placed in increasingly difficult and dangerous situations,” Donahue wrote.

Patel, a former public defender and Deputy Assistant to the President, has been a vocal critic of the “deep state” and has called for reforms within the FBI. His nomination has received support from some, including Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who stated, “Kash Patel is a patriot and a true believer in the mission of the FBI. He will bring much-needed reform and transparency to the agency.”

However, others have raised concerns about Patel’s lack of experience in law enforcement and his perceived partisan bias. The FBI Agents Association has also expressed concerns about Patel’s nomination, citing his lack of experience in federal law enforcement.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has yet to schedule a hearing on Patel’s nomination.
