Trump to Join Hegseth’s Rare Gathering of Generals and Admirals at Quantico

President Donald Trump is expected to personally attend a highly unusual meeting of U.S. military leaders at Quantico on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the matter. The gathering, called last week by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, will bring together generals and admirals from across the globe.

The White House has not publicly confirmed Trump’s participation and did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Axios was the first to report his attendance. U.S. officials acknowledged last week that the meeting would involve senior officers flown in from around the world but offered no further details.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming session. “I love it,” he said. “Let them be friendly with the generals and admirals from all over the world. Is there something wrong with it?”

While the Pentagon holds regular briefings and discussions with top military leaders, defense analysts note that a meeting of this scale, scheduled in person and on such short notice, is rare — and perhaps unprecedented. The unusual nature of the event has fueled speculation about its purpose, though neither the White House nor the Defense Department has elaborated.
