Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Israel had already agreed to the terms and called on Hamas to follow suit, stressing that there would be no further warnings if the group refused.
In response, Hamas confirmed it had received ideas from U.S. officials through mediators as part of efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement. The group said it was still reviewing the proposals and discussing them with mediators, while reiterating its readiness to negotiate a full exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas also tied any deal to a complete halt to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
Israeli media reported that Trump’s proposal would involve Hamas releasing all 48 remaining hostages on the first day of a ceasefire in exchange for thousands of Palestinians currently imprisoned in Israel. The plan also calls for negotiations on ending the war to take place during the truce. An Israeli official confirmed that the government was giving Trump’s plan serious consideration, though no further details were provided.
