Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Event, Fans were taken aback when Timothée Chalamet unexpectedly showed up at a lookalike competition in Washington Square Park in New York City. A $50 reward for the best resemblance to the Wonka and Dune actor was up for grabs for the contest, which was organized by YouTuber Anthony Po and drew hundreds of fans. Wearing a mask and baseball hat, Chalamet entered covertly before delighting the audience by posing with his doppelgängers, which caused bystanders to scream.
The contest, which attracted thousands of online RSVPs, required contestants to showcase their Chalamet-like traits, including bone structure and even French language skills. One fan noted that the actor’s distinctive “nose and bone structure” were key to a good impersonation. The contest’s winner, Miles Mitchell, dressed in a Willy Wonka costume, was crowned after charming the crowd by tossing candy.
New York police eventually shut down the “unscheduled” event, taking some attendees into custody before releasing them with a summons.
This unexpected appearance coincides with the release of a new teaser for the biopic A Complete Unknown, in which Chalamet plays Bob Dylan during his ascent to prominence in the 1960s. The movie will be released in January in the UK and December in the US.
