Obama urges Black men, In response to hesitation he feels is caused by sexism, former US President Barack Obama has urged Black males to back Kamala Harris in the forthcoming presidential election. While addressing Black men “coming up with reasons” not to support a female candidate, Obama criticized them at a speech at a Harris campaign office in Pennsylvania. He criticized Trump for his disdain for Black communities while highlighting Harris’s heritage and pointing out that she was aware of their challenges.
Obama’s comments coincide with polls showing some Black men under 50 endorsing Trump. Former Bernie Sanders surrogate Nina Turner called Obama’s discrimination against Black men unfair. Obama, who is still powerful despite this, criticized Trump’s leadership at a Pittsburgh rally, drawing comparisons between his actions and those of Fidel Castro, and urged Americans to cast ballots in large numbers.
Leaders in Michigan retaliated against Trump during his campaign rally in Detroit, where he warned that a Harris presidency would plunge the nation into anarchy. Governor Gretchen Whitmer spoke up for Detroit, describing it as a beacon of resiliency; nevertheless, Trump’s campaign subsequently stated that the goal of his programs is to provide cities like Detroit new life.
Both candidates continue to target key states, with Harris focusing on Latino voters in Nevada and Trump addressing immigration in Colorado.
