The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a dismal 109-80 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night. LeBron James, the team’s star player, had a lackluster game, scoring a season-low 10 points.
James’ struggles were evident throughout the game, and his low scoring total was a rare sight. Despite this, he managed to extend his impressive streak of consecutive games with at least 10 points to 1,243, an NBA record.
The Lakers’ poor performance wasn’t limited to James, as the team as a whole failed to find their rhythm. They scored a season-low 80 points and were outrebounded by the Timberwolves, 51-43.
D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with 20 points, while Anthony Davis added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Rui Hachimura matched James’ total with 10 points.
On the other hand, the Timberwolves had a strong team performance, with Julius Randle leading the way with 18 points. Rudy Gobert added 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each scored 15 points off the bench.
The Lakers will look to bounce back from this disappointing loss when they face the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
