Kipyegon Bett passes away, Kipyegon Bett, a former world under-20 800m champion, passed away in Bomet, Kenya, at the age of 26, after a brief illness. According to his sister Purity Kirui of BBC Sport Africa, Bett, who won the junior world title in 2016 and the bronze at the senior World Championships in London in 2017, had stomach symptoms approximately a month before to his passing. He has been in and out of the hospital since it was determined that he had a liver issue. When Bett started throwing up blood last week, his situation deteriorated.
