FBI Arrests Suspect in Connection with Pipe Bombs Near RNC and DNC

WASHINGTON, DC – The FBI has announced the arrest of a suspect believed to be responsible for planting pipe bombs near the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC) in the lead-up to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody following a thorough investigation, which included evidence collected from surveillance footage, forensic analysis, and witness accounts. The pipe bombs, discovered near both party headquarters in Washington, D.C., had the potential to cause significant harm, but were safely disarmed by bomb squads at the time.
