Ginger Johnson, a RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star, has been crowned the Celebrity MasterChef 2025 champion, beating out rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones and broadcaster Dawn O’Porter in the finale. Judges Grace Dent and John Torode praised Ginger’s “intriguing, inventive, and exciting” dishes, with John Torode calling her starter “showstopping” and “absolute brilliance”.

Ginger’s winning menu featured a Bloody Mary prawn cocktail, a twist on Duck a l’Orange, and a Flaming Baked Alaska dessert. She said her inspiration came from her parents, who instilled a love of cooking in her. “My mum’s weeknight dinners and my dad’s special Saturday creations inspired me to explore different cuisines,” Ginger shared.
The 37-year-old drag artist, whose real name is Donald Marshall, expressed shock and gratitude upon winning. “I cannot believe this, I’m so shocked. I really thought I was going to come here and have a laugh,” Ginger said. “I’ve actually learned a real-life skill!”
Ginger’s journey on Celebrity MasterChef was marked by creativity and humor, reflecting her personality as a drag performer. She’s the 20th celebrity to win the coveted trophy, joining the likes of Vito Coppola and Nadia Sawalha.
