Kenya Police Chief Douglas Kanja Denies Involvement in Abductions

Kenya’s National Police Service has denied involvement in the recent spate of abductions targeting critics of President Ruto’s government. Despite this, many Kenyans remain unconvinced, suspecting a possible link between the disappearances and state actors.

The abduction of several individuals, including social media influencers Peter Muteti and Billy Mwangi, has sparked widespread concern about human rights and government transparency. Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has vowed to investigate the incidents and bring those responsible to justice.

However, human rights groups and activists continue to raise questions about the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens’ rights. The recent protests against the finance bill have turned violent, with reports of deaths, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary arrests.

As tensions rise, Kenyans are demanding answers and calling for an end to the culture of impunity. The government’s response will be crucial in determining the course of events in the coming days.
