The actor described the experience as deeply rewarding, stating, “I believe him, I think he’s an amazing human being.” Koch expressed how meeting Erik was a pivotal and transformative experience for him.

Koch, now 28, has shown consistent support for Erik and Lyle Menendez. In interviews leading up to the release of Monsters, Koch shared how his preparation to play Erik led him to feel a deep sense of care and empathy for him. “Preparing to play him was, in a way, preparing to meet him at the same time,” he explained.
