Trump Demands DOJ Action Against Schiff, Comey, and Letitia James as Virginia Prosecutor Removed

President Donald Trump has escalated his calls for the Department of Justice to take action against some of his top political rivals, including Representative Adam Schiff, former FBI Director James Comey, and New York Attorney General Letitia James. In a forceful statement, Trump said the DOJ can no longer afford to delay, warning that credibility is at stake and that justice “must be served now.”

Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, left his post amid mounting pressure from the White House. Trump maintains that Siebert did not resign voluntarily but was fired for refusing to pursue what the former president described as a strong case against Letitia James. Trump accused Siebert of being a “Woke RINO” backed by Democratic senators who, in his words, were intent on protecting political allies.

In Siebert’s place, the DOJ appointed Mary “Maggie” Cleary as the new acting U.S. Attorney. Cleary, a former senior DOJ counsel and assistant U.S. attorney, confirmed her new role in an internal email. She previously spoke publicly about being falsely tied to the January 6 Capitol riot, which she said was later disproven. Her appointment is seen by Trump supporters as a chance to reset the course of the investigations.

At the center of the dispute is an inquiry into whether Letitia James engaged in mortgage fraud by allegedly misrepresenting a Virginia property as her main residence. Prosecutors under Siebert reportedly concluded that the evidence was too weak to move forward, a stance that angered Trump. In addition to James, Trump has repeatedly demanded legal action against Schiff and Comey, accusing both of corruption. All three have strongly denied wrongdoing, calling the accusations politically motivated.

The removal of Siebert and Trump’s direct involvement in demanding action have sparked concerns that the Justice Department is being politicized. Critics argue that criminal cases must be based on law and evidence, not political pressure, while Trump allies insist these steps are needed to hold long-protected figures accountable.

With Cleary now leading the Virginia office, it remains to be seen whether the investigations will intensify or lead to new indictments. Trump, however, has made clear he expects swift results, saying delays have damaged the administration’s credibility. After facing multiple indictments himself, Trump insists his opponents should face the same scrutiny, declaring that the time for waiting is over and that justice must finally be delivered.
