Gov. Gavin Newsom signs new executive order to help Los Angeles rebuild faster

California Governor Gavin Newsom has taken a crucial step to support the rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles after the devastating wildfires. He signed an executive order that removes certain regulatory hurdles, enabling residents and businesses to quickly rebuild their properties.

The order suspends specific environmental regulations, allowing for faster reconstruction of homes and businesses. This move aims to minimize bureaucratic delays and facilitate a swift recovery process.

To further accelerate rebuilding, Governor Newsom has directed state agencies to identify and simplify other permitting requirements. Additionally, he extended protections against price gouging for essential services like construction materials and storage until January 2026.

This executive order is part of a broader effort to address the wildfire crisis. Governor Newsom previously declared a state of emergency, securing federal funding to support fire suppression efforts and aid affected communities.
