I’m A Celebrity fans have poked fun at Dean McCullough’s dramatic decline in popularity on the show after he started a spat with Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall on Saturday night. The argument, which began when Alan woke Dean up to help with a task, has left viewers turning against the BBC presenter. In a hilarious update to his Wikipedia page, fans jokingly reflected on Dean’s trajectory on the show. Underneath his introduction, was written: “Dean currently presents at BBC Radio 1 and has previously presented at Gaydio. His final job was on I’m A Celebrity where he destroyed his career and image by being nasty to a bloke from Corrie.”

The joke has now been deleted, but it’s clear that Dean’s popularity has taken a hit since the argument. Even the show’s host, Ant McPartlin, shared his “frustration” with Dean’s lack of ability in the trials. Dean has been called “I’m A Celebrity” twice in the four challenges he’s been nominated for, and it’s clear that his lack of enthusiasm for the tasks is starting to grate on his fellow campmates and viewers at home. The Wikipedia update also poked fun at Dean’s refusal to participate in certain challenges, including one where he was asked to put his hand in fish guts. “Maura and Richard were out there eating testicles and pig snouts whilst Dean won’t even put his hand in fish guts,” the update read.

The Argument That Sparked It All

The argument between Dean and Alan began when the Coronation Street star woke Dean up to help Loose Women’s Jane Moore collect firewood. When Dean failed to get up immediately, Alan said: “Don’t fancy it? No?” The soap star then went down to help Jane, 62, and Dean later joined them and told Alan “You can go back now”, before the actor explained: “I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could.” The argument has left viewers divided, with some defending Dean’s right to sleep in, while others have criticized his behavior as lazy and uncooperative.

What’s Next for Dean?

As the show continues, it remains to be seen how Dean will recover from his dramatic decline in popularity. Before entering the Jungle, he shared with MailOnline that he hoped to come out of the show with a job at the BBC. However, given his recent behavior, it’s unclear whether that will still be possible. One thing is certain, however: Dean will need to win over his fellow campmates and viewers at home if he wants to stand a chance of winning the show.
